How can YOU make a difference?

The Year One students spent LIFE Week learning about Ursula Frayne, Year One and Frayne House Patron. Ursula Frayne was a Sister of Mercy who travelled to Perth from Ireland to help the people in Western Australia and open the first Catholic school. The Sisters of Mercy play an integral role in educating and caring for people all around the world. The Year One students spoke with Sr Joan Buckham earlier in the term in preparation for LIFE Week. Ms Rosa Speranza from Mercedes College also spoke to the students about the work the Mercedes students do to help the homeless in Perth City centre. The students studied the Mercy Cross and its many features before making one of their own. The colour blue was used to reflect the connection with the Sisters of Mercy.

A number of the Year 1 parents also make a difference! They came in to talk to the students about what they do in the community.
