On Thursday, 4 June, the Year 9s launched into their new project for Autumn and Winter Term with the big question 'Where is the Great City of Oz?'. The day saw Big Ideas teachers assume the characters from the Wizard of Oz - Dorothy, the lion, Tin Man and Scarecrow. The Da Vinci space was turned into our own Ellenbrook version of Kansas through the display of a photo narrative created by Mr Gooch and as their first task, students were challenged to produce a photograph of the school to fit into the black and white, bleak theme of the narrative.
The students also launched into the iTunes U course that will guide them through the journey of their project and also engaged in a competition to be first to complete a Dorothy (imagination), Tin Man (heart), scarecrow (brain) and lion (courage) challenge. An iTunes U voucher is over the rainbow for the first student to complete all the challenges and collect all four tokens this week!
