All things starting with 'O' and 'P' in Kindergarten!

Kindergarten H

It has been a busy fortnight in Kindergarten. Last week we explored the letter Oo. We were very lucky to have Mrs Love come into the class with her ThermoMix to help us make orange sorbet. We used our strong fingers to peel the oranges and squeeze out some sticky, tasty juice. We then added some ice and sugar and turned on the machine. We had to listen very carefully to the instructions from Mrs Love and there were many different numbers we had to look for at different stages of the process. The final verdict was that the orange sorbet was OUTSTANDING!

We have been starting to learn some new sports games in preparation for our Athletics Carnival. We have been having lots of fun with our friends in Kindergarten C playing these games in our House groups.

In PAThS we have been looking at 'making friends'. We have been focussing on how it is important to try and be friends with everyone and how we can use some simple phrases to help resolve conflicts.

Kindergarten was the perfect place to be this week with so many activities to help us learn about the letter pP and the sound that it makes. This week we cooked yummy pepperoni and pineapple pizzas, pancakes and popcorn. We microwaved puffy pictures, created patterns, made potato prints, put on puppet shows, used our feet to paint penguins, threaded pasta necklaces and squished pink and purple play dough. To finish off the week we celebrated with a Pyjama Party, watched Peter Pan or Pocahontas, played games and took home balloon puppy dogs and pirate swords. We had a positively perfect week!
