Inter-House Cross Country Carnival

It was a glorious day for an Inter-House Cross Country Carnival, which was held on the school oval and Coolamon Park on Thursday 1 May 2014. For the first time Junior School students took park simultaneously in their own modified Cross Country Carnival – a 100m timed Shuttlethon. It was tremendous seeing so much activity and movement on the school oval.
The standard of the carnival continues to improve with many pleasing performances on the day. Congratulations to Salvado House, who won the Senior School Carnival. And congratulations to Ozanam House, who won the Junior School Carnival.

We would like to thank the students who participated to the best of their ability and the many students, parents and teachers who acted in a variety of capacities as officials or helpers. Thank you to the Friends of Holy Cross, who helped raise funds for the two new school marquees, which looked amazing. We would also like to thank the many parents that turned out to watch the carnival.

I would sincerely like to thank and acknowledge the efforts of the Physical Education staff – Mrs Fiona de Courcier, Mr Gareth Elliott and Mr Brendan Buckley, along with Mr David McKern who worked tirelessly to prepare the oval and assisted in setting up and Mrs Cathie Lewis who prepared the great tasting Chocolate Milo Milk for the students post run.

Mrs Christina Davini
Frayne House Coordinator
Health & Physical Education Teacher
