Year 8 Big Ideas started with a bang this week with the introduction of The World Communities Game: Time Traveller’s Edition! To complement their studies in History, the Year 8 students travelled back in time to the year 1215 C.E and took up their roles as residents of a feudal manor. Nobles, clergy, knights, peasants and serfs had to work together to increase their holdings of crops, land and money whilst struggling with some difficult and costly situations.
Some suffered the loss of their food and livestock whilst others landed in medieval gaol when they angered the King! They learned to negotiate the perils of the trading floor and to begin planning their strategies as a team.
The students threw themselves into the game with a great level of enthusiasm and we look forward to seeing how the handle the twists and turns ahead!
