Temporary Changes to the Kiss-n-Drive Student Drop-off and Pick-up Procedures

The Stage 5 Building program will get underway this week with the fencing off of the builder’s compound between the College and the Church. This is expected to occur on Wednesday 4 May 2016. The building program includes the construction of facilities for Years 2 to 5 and performing arts spaces.

As the construction of the Years 2 to 5 building includes modifications to the current Kiss-n-Drive some temporary changes will be put in place for the duration of the building project.

There will be no access through the current Kiss-n-Drive, instead the parking bays immediately in front will become a temporary Kiss-n-Drive with an impermanent pathway constructed for students to use to access cars.

The diagram below illustrates how the temporary Kiss-n-Drive will operate.

Please note that the same conditions apply when using the temporary Kiss-n-Drive. Key aspects of this procedure include:

  • Student drop-off and pick-up will only be permitted in the drive through area in the front car park. This is not a parking zone.
  • Students must wait in this area until their parents enter the drop-off/pick-up zone before alighting from the car or getting into the car.
  • Where students are not present to be picked up parents will be required to immediately drive off and re-join the queue. This will ensure an orderly flow of traffic.
  • There is considerable street-side parking a short walk from the school. Parents are encouraged to utilise these spaces.
  • Where parents have found a parking space or are parked in the surrounding streets students will be permitted to walk to meet their parents.
  • Come 10-15 minutes later, once the traffic has eased.
  • Do not double park or block driveways.
  • Do not park and alight from your vehicle in the Kiss and Drive area.
  • Do not pull out in the Kiss and Drive area, but wait for the traffic to move forward.

We take our responsibility for the safety of your children very seriously. All we ask is that you too, take your responsibility for creating a caring, respectful and safe environment very seriously as well.

The builder will release an additional 20 parking bays in the car park off Westgrove Drive. When using these bays, it is important to use the pedestrian access provided and avoid transgressing onto the Stage 4 building area.

Your patience and support during the building program is sincerely appreciated.
