During Autumn Term, Year 9s are exploring the big question: What is the Great War of the 21st century? The students were drawn to make the connection with the centenary of the beginning of the Great War by forming a human info-graphic, symbolically using the symbol of red and forming the number 1914. They were then given the opportunity over two weeks to explore the 'great wars' facing humanity today through a range of interactive displays and activities, including a workshop on global poverty facilitated by Janeen Murphy from Caritas.
Students have been set the challenge of selecting what they believe truly is the Great War of the 21st century and to think critically and mathematically to justify their choice and implement a solution. The challenge is on!
