Holy Cross College Tour Day Thursday 5 June 2014

Holy Cross College Tour Day

Earlier in the year Holy Cross College conducted its Open Day with many visitors enjoying some extra treats with displays, music and drama items and some tasty delights in the College Café.

To complement our Open Day the College also holds a number of tour days throughout the year where interested parents and students are taken on a journey of discovery throughout the College to see students in action and to view the buildings and grounds. Our most recent tour day was held on Thursday 5 June 2014 with more than 50 families attending on the day.

Visitors were amazed by the awesome facilities, contemporary learning environments and innovative teaching methods, but above all, visitors to the College were impressed by the friendly and mature manner of our student tour guides. We are very proud of our students who were outstanding ambassadors for our College, as well as for their families. I would like to acknowledge the following students for their most professional efforts on the day:

·    Casey van der Merwe,
·    Stacie Braganza
·    Hensy Patel
·    Zara Hardwick
·    Kayla Collins
·    Rachel Joubert
·    Lauren Ford
·    Laura Evans
·    Max Hughes
·    Joshua Radwell-Rogers
·    Jack Hammon
·    Amy Dangerfield
·    Katelyn Verran
·    Kymberley Davis

I would also like to thank Mrs Carolyn Jess, Public Relations Officer, for her work in organising the day and being such a wonderful hostess.

Visitors were also treated with a bag of goodies upon leaving which included a detailed enrolment pack, College drink bottle and fridge magnet. The next Tour Day will be held on Thursday 14 August 2014. However, enrolment information is available any time by contacting the College Office on 9297 7600.

In just a short four years Holy Cross College has built an enviable reputation as being a College of excellence within a faith filled environment, not just within the Ellenbrook area but across the wider Western Australian community. The College is just one of 30 schools across Australia to be recognised as an Apple Distinguished school for its innovation and creativity in the use of digital technology in the teaching and learning process.

Currently, the College has around 460 students in K-2 and Years 7 – 12. 2014 sees two significant milestones for the College with the first year of Year 12 graduates and the establishment of the Junior School with the opening of the Early Learning Centre. A new secondary building will be completed later this year and boasts a new Design and Technology Centre, Learning Studios and breakout spaces.

The future of the College looks bright with strong demand for enrolment places, so get your application in early.

Mr P. Collins, Vice Principal
