Welcome BBQ and Parent Information Evening, Wednesday 15 February 2017

The College is holding the following events on Wednesday, 15 February which all parents/guardians in the Junior and Middles Schools are required to attend.

JUNIOR SCHOOL INFORMATION SESSION: 4.30PM – 5.00PM OR 5.00PM – 5.30PM
All parents of students in the Junior School are required to attend the Parent Information Session which will be held in your child’s classroom. You have the option of attending the session at either 4:30pm or 5:00pm.

MEETING WITH HOUSE TUTOR GROUP 5.15pm - 5.30pm
Middle School parents/guardians and students are required to meet in their respective HTG room.
This is an opportunity to meet with parents/guardians of other students in their HTG.

BBQ FOR ALL FAMILIES: 5:30PM – 6:30PM
All families are invited to join in a BBQ in the undercover area to welcome you to the Holy Cross College community for 2017. This is an excellent opportunity to meet new people, make new friends and build your support network. A gold coin donation is requested for the sausage sizzle and a drink.

The Friends of Holy Cross will be hosting the BQQ and are seeking assistance with the preparation, cooking and serving of the sausage sizzle and drink. Please advise the College office if you are able to assist.

Tours of the new College facilities will be held at the following times:
5.00pm          Junior School Only
6.30pm          Junior School and Years 8 and 9
7.10pm          Junior School and Years 7 and 9


Tours will begin and return to the Boulevard in front of the Administration building, leaving sufficient time for parents/guardians to make their way to their next session.

Parents/guardians of Senior School students are invited to attend the BBQ.

MIDDLE SCHOOL PARENT INFORMATION EVENING – 6.30PM – 8.30PM
The Middle School Parent Information Evening is aimed at providing parents/guardians with a toolkit of ideas to assist their children. Parents are required to attend a compulsory session applicable to your child/ren’s year level and two further sessions as detailed below. Students are required to attend with their parent/guardian in appropriate casual dress as per the College Standards for Uniform and Grooming.

Compulsory Sessions are as follows:

·      Year 7: - 6:30pm to 7.10pm
·      Year 8: - 7:10pm to 7:50pm
·      Year 9: - 7:50pm to 8:30pm

Concurrent Workshops are as follows and are to be booked at times other than your compulsory session:

(1)             Supporting Literacy Development at Home
(2)             Supporting Numeracy Development at Home
(3)             Getting to know the iPad
(4)             Transitioning to Secondary School (Year 7 parents only)

Parents/guardians are required to register your attendance for the Compulsory Session applicable to your child’s year level and, for parents of children in Middle School, two other concurrent workshops. Bookings are to be made using any internet-connected computer to access the online booking system called Parent Teacher On-Line (PTO). If you do not have access to the internet at home or at work please contact the College Office. Individual login details were emaiedl to parents last week.

I commend this evening to all parents/guardians as a requisite event on the College calendar and look forward to seeing everyone there.
