Year 3 Breaking News

This term the Year 3 and 4 children have been working together on the Keeping Safe program which empowers children to protect themselves in unsafe situations. The students have enjoyed the opportunity to interact across the year levels and to share their ideas with one another.
In English, students have been learning to recognise facts and opinions in texts they read. We have been investigation the power opinions have in trying to persuade us and have explored how different text types combine these two elements.

Last week, we were fortunate to have the Western Australian Museum come to our school to present an Incursion called Olden Day: School Ways. Children experienced what it was like reading boring pieces of writing by reading in unison, and they wrote using slate boards. Ethan was caught by the teacher bringing marbles to school and received the due punishment. The students made some excellent guesses about what some olden day artefacts would have been used for and what the modern day equivalent was.

We are all looking forward to our College Feast Day on Friday.
