Year 6 Camp

On Monday, 22 August, 2016, the Year 6 class departed to Camp Quaranup, Albany.
It took two hours to get to a park in the town of "Williams”, where we had morning tea. Afterwards we left there to go to Changerup Farm.

Once we had arrived, we got to ask some questions. We also got to feed and pat the sheep that were there. There were two sheep, one female and one male we think they might have been "husband and wife”. We then saw inside the sheering shed and saw A LOT of wool.

We then went to Kojonup for lunch, some of the boys played soccer, then we left for camp which took another two hours to get there! Once we arrived we got our bags from under the bus (in the compartment underneath), put our bags in our dorms and chose our beds. We then had afternoon tea and played outside.

We had dinner and Team Games then we went to bed.

Tuesday
We got up, had breakfast and got ready to leave camp (not permanently) to go to The Whaling Station. We watched a 3-D movie about whales, then we ate, looked at skeletons, went on a boat, watched another movie, but in 2-D and about sharks. We also went to the Botanical Gardens, saw loads of plants, then we left to go to our lunch break.

We stopped for our lunch break at the W.A. Museum, Old Gaol (pronounced like jail), The Brig Amity and The Residency. The Brig Amity is a ship that was used to bring The First European Settlers. The Old Gaol was...well...a jail, it had prison cells, fake prisoners, and displays of items the captain owned.

We got back to camp after 45 minutes. We wrote recounts of what happened during the day, had a trivia night that went from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. Then we went to bed.

Wednesday
We had breakfast and got ready to go to The Bibbulmun Track hike. We walked 10km with only three food/drink breaks! We have now walked the start and at the end of the Bibblumun Track!

When we got back to camp we wrote our recounts, ate dinner and watched a movie called "The Little Rascals" for movie night. Then we went to bed.

Thursday
We woke up, ate breakfast and got ready to go to Mass Rock, where we had our liturgy. We went to The National Anzac Centre we had morning tea and went on cool movable tanks. When we went inside the ANZAC Centre we got cards with an Anzac on each one and AudioPens which we used to listen to their story. It was very cool! After lunch we had a scavenger hunt to replace photos taken off the website with our own.

We also went to the Mt Clarence Lookout which had spectacular views of Albany! We went back to camp, ate dinner, had a hilarious talent show and went to bed.

Friday
Today we had to wake up very early! We ate breakfast, packed our bags and put them on the bus. We left camp, had morning tea at St Bernard's Catholic School in Kojonup. We had lunch in Williams and finally arrived back at the College for the end of the day.

Our camp was really long...but really, really fun!
