Year Three Steps Back in Time

The Year Three students have had a busy week of learning, even stepping back into the 19th Century! As part of our Big Ideas learning we have been exploring how schools have changed. On Wednesday, the children wore old fashioned clothes to school and participated in a range of activities, including: writing with ink dip pens and chalkboards; having a bottle of milk and oranges for recess; as well as playing hopscotch and marbles. Although the children all enjoyed this experience immensely, they were very relieved to get back into our current classroom!

This week the Year Three children also visited Fr. Bona at the Church as part of our Religious Education unit. He explained the different parts of the Mass and showed us the Eucharistic Vessels – paten, ciborium and chalice. It was an excellent opportunity for the children to see these vessels close up and have their many questions answered.

It has been a very busy term for the children and they are all looking forward to a chance to relax and regain their energy over the holidays, ready for another exciting term of learning.
