Week 3 in the Junior School

KINDERGARTEN
This week we had an integrated session with the Pre-Primary children for our PATHs lesson. Miss Pritchard helped us to make masks to show what our faces look like when we are feeling happy or sad. We enjoyed playing with the Pre-Primaries and look forward to working with them again next Thursday. Also this week we had the big kids from the senior school visit our class to organise some fun learning activities and games (which will hopefully be a regular occurrence).

Thank you to all the parents for your attendance and participation at our parent information evening.

YEAR ONE
The fabulous Year Ones have been busy reading ‘There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed A Fly’ this week! The children loved sequencing the story as a class and looking at all the rhyming words. We then brainstormed all the different animals the lady swallowed and thought of other possible things she could have eaten. During our phonics lessons we have been looking at camera words (sight words). We have learned that we can’t phonemically sound out all of these words so we need to take a picture of the words and store it in our heads.

**Just a little reminder that we are collecting lids of all sizes - jar lids, jam lids, milk bottle lids, juice lids, etc. as well as other recycled items.**
