Year 8 Big Ideas

‘Bringing Back the Renaissance!’

This term in Year 8 Big Ideas, the students will be attempting to ‘Bring Back the Renaissance!’ 

Inspired by Renaissance men such as Da Vinci, Galileo, Shakespeare and Newton, students will be undertaking a Challenge Based Learning Project to create their own inventions. These inventions will be attempting to demonstrate the Renaissance values of innovation, creativity, usefulness, relevance and longevity. This project will contribute to the core curriculum areas of History and Science.

To facilitate this project, Year 8 students are asked to begin collecting the materials they need for their inventions, in time for construction in Week 3.

We look forward to a challenging and exciting term full of wonderful discoveries!
