Year 7 Big Ideas

Thursday the 24 October saw the Year 7's board two buses to Kolbe Catholic College in Rockingham and Corpus Christi in Bateman.  The purpose of this trip was to gain an understanding about what LIFE is like at an established college, to compare our LIFE with others and to enable us to make informed predictions about what our future LIFE and school might look like.

Our students had the opportunity to survey students and tour the school, looking at the grounds and the classrooms.  While our two groups were in two different places we were tweeting #hccbigideas what we saw, this enabled both groups to gain knowledge about two different places.

When we gathered back at school together in our own Da Vinci space we had an interesting time meeting up with our pillar group - Learning, Inter-relationships, Faith and Enrichment to share our experiences and observations.

Where to next for Year 7 Big Ideas? We have to interpret our data gathered on our excursion and use everything we know to predict the future LIFE at HCC.  In the weeks to come we will produce 3D models with our predictions that cover our pillars and these will be placed in a time capsule and emailed to ourselves in the future, to be opened when our current Year 7's are in their final year at school in 2018.  Will our predictions, dreams and plans come true? WATCH THIS SPACE.
