Year 10 Well Being Days

Puberty, drugs, alcohol, stress management and connections were all important parts covered in our Health and Well Being day's for the Year 10 students. On Monday and Tuesday the students took part in workshops and seminars related to health topics that are age specific for our students.

On Monday, Holly Ann Martin from Safe4Kids ran separate workshops for the boys and girls on protective factors and how our online image is not always true. Holly helped the students indicate five key adults in their lives that they could go to for help. The students also looked at posting, tagging and comments on social media not reflecting their true self. The legal aspects in regards to cyber bullying and sexting was a discussion point with the students.

On Tuesday,  the students also looked at stress management techniques such as yoga and meditation which involved relaxing music and breathing techniques. The day was concluded with some fun connection/ team work activities that helped the students understand the importance the act, belong and commit slogan.

Thanks
Ms Bond
