Junior School Update

Pre-Primary

Welcome to Spring Term! The children have eased back into Pre-Primary with determination. In Mathematics this term, we are continuing to explore 3D shapes and their properties through hands-on playful experiences.

This term, we will soon begin to learn about symmetry and slides, flips and turns using different shapes. This will strengthen our knowledge on how changing the position of an object does not change the shape. We will also be exploring the language we use when describing location and the space around them. We are looking forward to a fun Spring Term!

Year 1

The Year 1 students were very excited to be back this term, especially for the Athletics Carnival! Getting ready for the first event of the day, the students were taken to the start line for their sprints. Mr. Pisano started them off and the students ran as fast as they could. It was awesome to hear all the cheering on the sidelines from both the students and the many parents there to support them.

After a recess break, it was straight back into it. The students had a ball in all the team games, participating in the sack relay, baton relay, beanbag relay, circle ball, egg and spoon race and tunnel ball. They all joined in and showed fantastic sportsmanship towards their team members and other houses. Well done to Ozanam who came first out of the Year 1 Team Games.

To finish off the day, we had the grand relay with one boy and one girl from each house and each year level. It was very close as everyone put their all into it, with Salvado finishing first.

It was a fantastic day overall, with everyone participating and supporting their teammates. Congratulations to the winning house, McCormack!
