Junior School Update

Year 4

Last term was so busy that we all were looking forward to a well-deserved rest over the break. Here are a few of our favourite things from the end of Winter term.

We visited the Kindy classes to share our short stories with them. It was wonderful to read our writing to an audience, and the Kindy students were so interested in our books. Thanks for having us Kindy!

After that, the Year 8 students invited us to view their Big Ideas expo. What an interesting day! It was fantastic to hear about how the life story of Dom Salvado influenced the Year 8s, as he is our Patron in Year 4 too! We can really take inspiration from their projects for our own future endeavours.

Last week, we presented our Big Ideas projects that were answering the question, “Who are Australians?”. We learned a lot about Indigenous Australians, foods from many cultures that have come to Australia, and famous sports people in Australia. What an amazing country we live in!

We are looking forward to another busy and exciting term, with our new Big Ideas project focusing on “Why is the environment important?”. We can’t wait to explore it, starting with our excursion to Whiteman Park on Monday!
