Year 7 at Scitech

On Thursday 7th May, all of year 7 visited Scitech as part of their studies for Big Ideas this term. After exploring energy and energy transfers, students had free time to look around the exhibits. However, the highlight of the day was a visit to the Planetarium, where we were taken on a journey to outer space. Here, we were asked the question, 'Are we Aliens?' The show explored the idea that there might be life on other planets, and discussed the Mars One project, where volunteers are currently being selected to go and set up a colony on Mars.

Our final activity was to watch a 'Things that Glow' show, before heading back to school. It is hoped that students will reflect on some of this work as they complete their Big Ideas project for this term.
