A Final Week of Joy!

Pre-Kindergarten

What a wonderful year we have had in Pre-Kindergarten! Mrs Gorton and I were very blessed to not only have an amazing group of students, but also a fantastic and supportive group of parents. The children have come so far this year and I hope you enjoy reflecting on your child's journey when you read their Two Stars and a Wish Report as well as view their Spring Term picture collage.

I asked the children what some of their favourite things about Pre-Kindergarten were. This is what they had to say:
Raquel- I loved doing playdough.
Molly- I loved colouring in.
Shenaye- I liked doing counting.
Drustan- I loved doing blocks.
Samuel- I liked doing painting.
Ari- I have loved doing numbers.

Thank you again for a great year and I wish you all a wonderful Christmas and all the best for 2016.

All of the staff and students in Kindergarten C are amazed at how quickly this year has gone.
We have all grown so much, had so much fun, made lifelong friends, laughed so hard and learnt all sorts of things.
Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a safe and happy New Year.
See you in 2016!

Year One

Can you believe it! The year is complete! It has been a fantastic year and I would like to thank all my students for such a wonderful year of learning and laughter. A sincere thank you also to my parent group for all their support throughout the year.

This fortnight has continued to be busy. On Tuesday, we performed at our annual Christmas Concert and the students performed a song learnt with Mr McRae and a dance from Sport. The students all had a great time and looked super cute in their Christmas outfits. It was lovely to welcome the parents into the play area during recess and the students enjoyed playing chasey and sharing their play space.

During PAThS this fortnight, we have continued to learn about ways we can be good friends to each other. We discussed what makes a good friend and why it is important to treat people the way we want to be treated. Like and dislike have been our feeling focus. We shared times we have disliked something and times we have enjoyed something. The children learnt about the difference between liking something and loving something or someone too.

We have continued to develop our spelling books and have shared a number of our books as videos. The students enjoyed listening to others sound focuses and discussing words that have their sounds.

The Year One’s have also been busy creating their Christmas gift for their families. This year the students decorated a white tile, which can be hung or used as a hot plate. We hope the families enjoy their gifts at Christmas time.

I wish all the Holy Cross College families a very happy and safe Christmas and hope everyone enjoys the festive season.
