St Vincent de Paul Christmas Appeal

ADVENT SEASON

Welcome to the Advent season and all the preparations that we will be involved in for the celebration of Christmas. Let us not forget the true meaning of the day and make sure we spare a thought for the Christ child and the tremendous influence he has had on our Christian world.

Welcome too to the Holy Cross College Christmas Appeal. It is another time of the year where we put our efforts into raising the profile of the St Vincent de Paul Society which Frederic Ozanam founded. For this appeal this year each House Tutor Group (HTG) has been given the profile of a typical household that the Society caters for at Christmas time. Each family will receive the description of this household and are asked, along with the rest of the HTG to assemble a hamper for the household for Christmas. Ideas for the hamper are found below.

We will once again have the Christmas Tree of Giving in the College Office with tags for each of the individuals found within the HTG profiles. Please consider taking one of these tags and buying something for one of these individuals. Please do not wrap the presents but place them in a plastic bag. The Society must check all parcels and will then wrap them for the individual concerned.

Many thanks for your cooperation and we will keep you informed as to how the Appeal is going over the next two weeks.
