KINDERGARTEN
Our amazing Kindy students are becoming experts
in measuring height. We have been exploring how tall we are and used a streamer
to measure ourselves. These are on display in the DaVinci space for everyone to
see how tall everyone is growing! We have also compared our height to different
animals in the world; some of us are the same height as an emperor penguin. We
had a block building competition to see who could build the tallest tower.
Charlie and his team were the winners! We also had a competition to see who
could jump the highest. Caden, Chace and Cooper must have springs in their feet
because they all tied for equal first.

YEAR ONE
Well well well, didn’t our Year Ones impress everyone during our assembly. I must say I was so pleased with them, especially how well they continued to sing our last act without the music. We have recorded the students singing and dancing to the music to demonstrate just how fabulous they were.
During Week Seven we have read the story ‘You Noisy Monkey’. We have discussed ways in which we can speak to emphasise expression, for example roar, scream, shout, yell and whisper. The students enjoyed having a go at the new vocabulary and putting it into practice. We have also created alternative endings to a story. Some students changed the story to include; a volcano erupting, others would have added fairies and even tornadoes. We have also looked at speech marks, indexes and glossaries.
The students are getting excited for their ‘Superhero Disco’ this Friday. We can’t wait to see all of the costumes!
