The Year 8s finished the term with a bang this Thursday when they conducted a Wellbeing carnival for the Junior school students! Divided into teams of four, The students nominated an area - food, fitness, fun or feelings - on which to focus and created a twenty minute ‘lesson’ to conduct for a mixed-age group of students from the Junior school.
Activities included teamwork activities, meditations, fruit tasting, ball skills, dancing and many more.
The Junior School students had a blast and the Year 8s demonstrated excellent teamwork, leadership and organisational skills as well as some very creative ideas!
The carnival was followed by an awards ceremony, wherein standout Year 8 groups were awarded for Best Teamwork, Best Leadership, Most Creative, Best Learning Opportunity and Most Engaging. This project was a wonderful example of learning for the Year 8s and they made their teachers proud with their demonstration of cooperation and creativity.
It has been an exciting year for Year 8 Big Ideas and we wish the cohort well as they begin Year 9.
