The Associated and Catholic Colleges Cross Country Carnival saw almost 60
students compete for the College, with over 2000 students from the 62 other
schools in the ACC competing in the competition. Following on from the WA All Schools Cross Country, there were some fantastic
individual results. However, the school was able to qualify for the Overall
Schools trophy by having three finishers in every race. The College finished 30th
overall out of 62 schools, an achievement the students should be proud of for
such a small and growing school.
The individual highlights for the ACC Cross
Country was a stellar performance from Cian Guest. Cian had recently finished
fourth in the WA All Schools but he went even better in the ACC with a massive
sprint from over 200m from the finish to take out victory. In Cian’s three
years of running at the ACC he has run 1st (2013), 2nd
(2014) and 1st (2015). This is an achievement that some very
accomplished runners through the years have not been able to replicate.
Other really strong performances included,
Yugusuk Soka (Under 16 – 18th place), Luwaya David (Under 13 – 53rd),
Alex Rankin (Under 14 – 78th), Caitlin McKenzie (Under 16 – 80th)
and Jake Caulfield (Under 13 – 95th)
Times and placings can be checked by parents and students at the ACC's website.
