The service, which was
attended by West Coast Eagle Nic Naitanui and Warriors and Scorchers Coach Justin
Langer, allowed students to see how elite sports people allow God’s gifts into
their lives and how they pray and ask for God’s help in their journey towards
being the best sports person they can be.
Associated & Catholic
Colleges of WA (ACC) were asked to bring an item that represented their sport.
Holy Cross College brought the ACC Aggregate Swimming “G” Division Shield
recently won for the first time by the College. The shield was brought up to
the altar by the College’s Enrichment Captain, Georgia Heggs, where it was
blessed by the Catholic and Anglican Archbishops.
It was a wonderful opportunity
to further instill into young sportsmen and women a deeper sense of the many
values and virtues present within sports. We encourage our students to reflect
on their own unique sporting journey whilst spurring them on to a greater level
of commitment and performance in the future.
We thank the following
students who gave up their time to attend this very meaningful and insightful
service: Georgia Heggs (College Enrichment Captain), Jo-Anna Maynard, Caitlyn McKenzie,
Cian Guest, Hannah Schnell and Michaela Maynard.
